Canto 25. Hope (April 2017)
Hope is spoken of in the Commedia's twenty-fifth Paradiso canto,
hope for something better to lifts a person's spirits and inspire good acts.
Hope can be an expectation of future reward for doing what is hard.
If faith is a belief in something unseen, hope is wishing for a better future.
Without hope that things will ever be any better, either in this world
or in another world or life, existence itself can seem unendurable.
