Canto 8 of Inferno in the original poem describes
passing through a foul marsh towards the City of Dis
as well as an encounter with a noble Dante knew
from Florence as both arrogant and filled with rage.
I continue to deviate from the original poem by portraying
a state of consciousness instead of the Christian hell.
